The Prusik Knot

Two Prusik loops are alternately slid up a static rope: a long Prusik loop allows the climber to left himself using his/her leg power, and a second shorter Prusik loop is attached to the harness. For rescue teams, if a climber has to be pulled up, a Prusik loop could be used to attach a pulley block purchase system to a climbing rope.
